Attached is the form for tickets to the Night at the Kernels on July
5th. This was a great event for the kids last year and I would
reccommend it highly. This kids will wear there uniform tops and hats
with shorts and will walk around the field as a team before the game.
Tickets are $7.50 a piece. Get me the forms and money back by our
June 16th game so I can get them turned in by June 20th.
5-20 game has been rescheduled to 6-29 in Center Point at 6 pm.
June 10th, 11th, and 12th tournament. We play again at the Kirkwood complex at the Airport.
We play at 6 pm on diamond #1 on Friday night the 10th.
We play at 11am and 2:30 pm on Saturday.
Depending on how we do, we may play on Sunday also.
The game location tonight has been change to LaSalle. Our field at Prairie is not playable. Try to be there by 5:30 pm.

Thanks for your support of the concession stand this week! In order to
continue to offer this convenience to parents, we need to find
volunteers to staff the concession stand for 28 nights (with more than
1 game being played on diamonds 1-4) in May, June and July.
Please consider volunteering:
Volunteering is easy…all of the food is pre-packaged and ready to sell!
Each volunteer is allowed to have one child in the concession stand
with them. What a great way to give your child an impromptu math
lesson or teach them about volunteering!
The entire shift is no longer than 2.5 hours. Volunteers can split
this up with other parent volunteers, or volunteer for the entire
shift.
All proceeds from concession stand sales will be put back into the
program to keep membership fees low, fund field maintenance needs,
etc.

NO practice today. I drove to the field this morning and it is just
starting to rain and the field is already wet. Not to mention the 20
mph winds and 45 degree temps. I looked at the radar and more rain is
on the way.
We will have practice on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. and we have a game in
Center Point on Friday night. More to follow with that.

Sunday
10:45 am vs. Marion
4 teams in our division. Everybody will play each other and the top
two teams will play for the championship at 12:30 pm on Sunday.
We also owe a $100 gate fee which is paid by each team. I need each
player to pay $9 to me by Saturday.
Games are played at Starry Park in Marion. Directions are as follow:
East on Highway 100 from Granite City to East Post Road. Take left on
East Post Road and go into town. Take right at first stop light and
go 1 block and fields are on the left.
I’m sure this comes as no surprise but practice tonight is cancelled.
I just went out to the field and there is standing water on it.
Plan on tomorrow at our field at 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm.

NO PRACTICE TONIGHT!
I just went and walked the field. Getting to the field is like
walking on a soaked sponge and the outfield has standing water in it.
All we would get accomplished tonight is ruining a bag of baseballs.
The soccer club has also cancelled all activities tonight.
The other U9 Prairie team has an away game on Wednesday and we can use
their field. Practice will be from 5:30 – 6:30 pm.
We will also practice on Thursday, normal time.
Hopefully we can get one of them in.
If you get a chance, try to play catch or pitch to your son. Anything
will help at this point. Our pitching distance this year is 44 feet.
We are still going to try and scrimmage/practice this Thursday with
the U9 Black team. However, it isn’t looking good. The fields were
waterlogged last night and today isn’t helping. For the parents on my
team last year, it seems like a repeat. The weather was awful then
too.
With that being the case, I spoke with Coach Travis of the black team
and we have decided because of mother nature that next week on
Wednesday and Thursday we will be able to practice both days together
to get ready for the weekend. We may scrimmage or split up into
different stations. I realize that on Wednesday there are church
activities, mine included, but if you can make it for awhile and then
leave, that is fine with me. Both days will be at 5:30 pm.
